Glen Rock was ousted from the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group I girls’ tennis team tournament on Thursday when Hawthorne pulled out a 3-2 victory. Marjon Rahimin defeated Simona Radu 6-1, 7-5 in the meeting of No. 1 singles players while Vanessa Gonzalez coasted to a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Steohanie Pankiw in the third singles matchup.
Glen Rock edged Midland Park 3-2 in a B-PSL girls’ tennis match on Friday by sweeping the singles. Rahimin coasted to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Stephanie Chapman in the No. 1 singles slot while Maggie O’Rourke toppled Samantha Brown 6-4, 6-1 at second singles. Gonzalez captured the crucial third team point when she cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win against Ali DeGraaf at third singles.
